What is it?
Reablement is a short and intensive service, usually delivered in the individuals home, which is offered to people with disabilities and those who are frail or recovering from an illness or injury.
The purpose of reablement is to help people who have experienced deterioration in their health and/or have increased support needs to relearn the skills required to keep them safe and independent at home.
We also support individuals to build their overall confidence and maximise their quality of life.
How long does it take?
The service is generally provided for a very short period. Individuals often meet their goals within the first four weeks with an optional further two weeks if their goals are achievable.Last reviewed: 19/03/2015
